Jonathan Liddell is an author/illustrator. With a background in various teaching roles and a current creative-writing workshop presenter, he has worked closely for many years with children who find themselves in difficult circumstances. He graduated in 2016 from the DJCAD Masters in Art, Society & Publics, and was awarded the William Sangster Phillip fund. His stories focus on “relatable challenges and how to overcome them, nodding to the small joys in life” with humour and sensitivity, as he celebrates families, friends and promotes simple pleasures. With recent funding from the Scottish Book Trust he is actively engaging children in reading activities during the latest challenge of Covid. Jonathan’s illustrations draw on the Scottish landscape and wildlife and outdoor pursuits.
