It is March 1982. Alison McLeod is part of the new breed of young women brave enough to take on the masculine world of business. A product of Edinburgh society, she is outwardly sophisticated, determined and clever but a serious trauma has left her shy and repressed in private.She meets Jon Bellini, a brash, handsome Italian American at a conference she is hosting. They lock horns then hearts in a whirlwind affair.Jon’s seemingly open nature is belied by his relationship with his personal assistant, Allan.
