Contemporary Latin American Cinema
This text traces the emergence of a transnational film tradition. It incorporates the Latin America/Hollywood and Indiewood vector of film-making into its study of the region’s transnationalised film-making. It argues that, although undoubtedly commercial, films produced within or under the structures of Hollywood are not necessarily apolitical nor divorced from notions of national or continental identity.
