The contributors of this book know about Lyme disease at a very personal level. Many have been astonished by what damage the disease can do, and frustrated by the barriers they face in being listened to, diagnosed, advised and treated, and most importantly to being understood both socially and within our arguably flawed healthcare system, with so many loops to jump through, often to no avail. This book gives a voice to these people, from all over the world, whose bodies and minds have been ravaged by the Borreliosis and other tick-borne bacteria. It is not a guide to Lyme disease or to recovery, but there is much to learn much from its pages, containing true stories, reflections, humour, poems, tips, rants and rhetoric. It aims to support the thousands of people who go through life with this dreadful disease.
