The Clan Scott, whose motto is Amo (I love), are a clan of the Scottish Borders area. Other families connected to the clan are Buccleuch, Geddes, Laidlaw and Langlands. One of the most famous of the Scotts is historical novelist and playwright and poet Sir Walter Scott. Scott was the chief catalyst for the re-introduction of tartan for Scotland.
