The Rocks of Scarr
John A. Watson
The Rocks of Scarr is a satirical tale of adventure spurred by greed. It deals with the efforts of European Border Agencies to find the source and route of smuggled diamonds that are appearing on the European market. Suspicion has fallen on wealthy Russian industrialist, Yevegeny Zhirkov, who may be using his distant-water fishing fleet to smuggle uncut gems to St. Petersburg. A chink in the operation appears with the discovery that the United Kingdom is somehow involved. It is thought probable that the ship’s captain, Vladimir Radek is ‘ripping off’ his employer and sending stones ashore to accomplices on the Moray Firth coast. A scheme is devised to catch the participants in the act. The old fishing village of Scarr is reduced to a state of mayhem as authorities and self-serving individuals vie to secure the booty. The book is packed with action and makes for an exciting read.
John A. Watson
