Touched by Robert Burns
The 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns will be celebrated in 2009. Touched by Robert Burns is Andy Hall’s unique tribute, in words and photographs, to the great poet. Following on from the success of his “Sense of Belonging to Scotland” books, Andy has asked 60 well-known people to describe how the works of Burns have touched their lives. Each of their pieces is accompanied by atmospheric photography, evoking the writings of the Bard, and the landscape that inspired his poetry. Participants in “Touched by Robert Burns” include Sir Alex Ferguson, Maya Angelou, Brian Cox, Sir Tom Hunter and Seamus Heaney, who has written a poem especially for the book.
