Chris R Langley is Lecturer in Early Modern British History at Newman University, Birmingham, where his research focuses on the social history of religion in early modern Britain and Ireland. He has received multiple awards including Supervisor of the Year from the York University Students’ Union in June 2013 and the Scottish History Society Postgraduate Prize for transcription of a missing extract of the Synod of Lothian and Tweeddale minutes, December 2011. This is his first book.
