A New Plan for a New Scotland

On 18 September 2014 people in Scotland made one of the most historic decisions in British history. Although a clear majority voted No to independence, an even bigger majority said Yes to change. New devolved powers for Scotland outlined just months after the referendum have altered the relationship between the constituent parts of the United Kingdom forever. In this book, Gordon Brown shows how these powers can be used to meet the aspirations of the Scottish people and create a better Scotland defined by a strong commitment to social justice, at the same time strengthening one of the oldest and most admired political unions in the world. But in order to realize the huge possibilities of a newly empowered Scottish parliament we must move fast to heal the divisions caused by the referendum.
