Love Scenes
Ralph Storer
Why can’t life be more like the movies? More to the point, when it comes to love and sex, why do the off-screen versions have to be so much more complicated? Struggling to make sense of his failed relationships, the hero of “Love Scenes” measures his life against the films he’s seen and finds it sadly lacking. Although he counts himself lucky to live in Edinburgh, a city as picturesque and romantic as anything Holywood could conjure, he despairs of finding the love life to go with it. Things didn’t work out with Jenny, and history seems to be repeating itself with Emma. But suddenly hope is reborn when Lisa enters the frame…Peppered with hard-won insights into the dynamics of male/female relationships, and a series of comical mishaps and misunderstandings between the sexes, this is a novel that will open your eyes to how the other half loves.
Reviews of Love Scenes
'Love Scenes flows like the best of romantic comedies, making it both a hugely entertaining read…' Daily Record 'The dialogue is assured, crisp and vivid.' The Scotsman 'Written in a fluent comic prose, Love Scenes is a funny and occasionally poignant tale, which it is hoped will do for singleton males what Bridget Jones did for lovelorn females.' Dundee Evening Telegraph
