The Brave Little Firework
by Carol Howard, illustrated by Jen Chennell
The Brave Little Firework tells the story of Freya, a tiny firework who is afraid to fly, and her amazing pals who come up with a plan to help her overcome her fear.
When a tiny firework bursts into tears at the prospect of spiralling through the dark, her friends come up with a succession of ideas to ;encourage her to fly.
At the outset, they offer to stay by her side, but Freya is afraid she might lose them. Undeterred, they promise to shine brightly in the darkness so that Freya knows where they are. However, she hides her eyes when she’s frightened, and this plan is rejected.
The persistent fireworks finally suggest making lots of noise when they’re up in the air, so even if Freya can’t see them, she’ll hear them. Happy with this proposal, Freya is able to find the courage she needs to leap into the night sky.
This beautifully illustrated rhyming picture book explores themes of friendship, perseverance and bravery.
Perfect for celebrations all year round
