macCloud Falls
Robert Alan Jamieson
MacCloud Falls follows bookseller Gilbert Johnson who, after a cancer diagnosis, embarks on a journey to discover the story of an early settler in Canada, whom he believes may have been his runaway grandfather. On this journey, he meets a Canadian woman who accompanies him deep into the heart of the province.Spanning from Shetland to British Columbia, Robert Alan’s novel is a fictional response to the impact that Scottish colonisation had on the west of Canada and how it affected the Indian Rights movement of the 20th century.Alan’s multi-layered novel is at once a road trip romance and an exploration of issues of cultural appropriation, questioning just who gets to tell a given story.
