Allan Ramsay
ALLAN RAMSAY was a Scottish poet born in Lanarkshire in 1686. He wrote poetry in Scots and English as well as working as a publisher, a librarian, and a wig maker. He collected the sayings of Scotland as A Collection of Scots Proverbs, first published in in the 18th century. This revised volume of proverbs has been selected and translated by Luath Press.
