`Half Worlders’ looks to a future where the increasingly widening gap between rich and poor has resulted in the creation of huge, walled cities, from which an elite of humankind rules over an Alter Earth of Creatures and Beasts. The Beasts are what remains of animal-kind, inflated in size and driven insane by a cocktail of water-borne DNA and retroviruses in the year 2028; then there are the Creatures, ordinary men who have become ManAnts, ManDogs, ManGeese – hybrids with a legion of genetic possibilities…Set in a broken England, `Half Worlders’ is the very human story of one family of ManDogs fighting against the vindictive cruelty of a young scientist, Nicholas Archimedes. It all begins when into the ManDog family comes a very special baby…
Neil Rosser has been working in audio for over twenty-five years, something he fell into by accident after managing to avoid work until he was 30. But he also fell in love with audio and became a freelance radio producer, working on programmes for the BBC, from comedy to history, from music to drama. He’s produced hundreds of hours of radio and nearly a hundred hours of television programming but in recent years has focused on audiobooks. It was directing audiobooks that gave him the spur to write his own novel.
