Memories of a Portree Kid

Scottish Highlanders, whether at home or in the diaspora, have a particular interest in who they are and where they come from; striving to find out about their forebears, the society in which they lived and the land and environment which gave them sustenance. Ian G Macdonald was brought up in Portree in the Isle of Skye, during the 1950s and 1960s, surrounded by friends, family and family history. This book gives us a glimpse into life in the village and surrounding parish during a period of change, following two world wars which had had a significant impact on the community.
