The book discusses research design and measurement in this field, the outcome of longitudinal studies, and the result of intervention initiatives. Divided into five sections, the book reviews theory on dating violence and its consequences, discusses risk factors and protective factors, such as substance use, social media, and sexting, and how social and cultural backgrounds can influence teen dating violence in different ethnicities and among gay teens.In addition, the book presents recent research priorities, including gender differences in dating violence and online behavior, and finally, evidence based practice for treatment and prevention.
