MuseumsEtc is an independent publishing house based in Edinburgh and specialising in books on photography and books for museum and gallery professionals.

For us, books are just the starting point for cultural action, involvement and education. And for influencing the future of photography. We’re in the business of change, not the business of profit. Free from state, corporate, or charitable funding, we publish what we think is needed — not just what sells.

We aim to reach the widest possible audience through multiple channels: online, bookshops, launches, seminars, study groups, training programmes… And we welcome collaboration with like-minded organisations and individuals, nationally and internationally.

At the same time, we’re passionate about the design, feel and quality of every book we publish.
